Can i change the spark ignition timing?
My Ford focus 2 (europe) 2007 has a knock in the engine but not that of a big noise, it is like blowing a kiss with that sound from your lips, sorry for the unspecific description for the sound
i went to the mechanic he started telling me that i need to put higher octane and the fuel is not burnning well because the octane ratio in your fuel is not enough so i went to put the higher octane and the knocking still there
i started to get confused as i don't know anymore what to do about this problem, i can't even detect my problem all i know is my fuel is not burnning well in the pistons
i got an OBDll and started dignosing the car for faults, None were found
i asked alot then for what is my problem and how can it be fixed and i concluded from all the answers i got My question about the spark ignition timing
Is it even possible to do something like that?
Added (1). Can i change the spark ignition timing?(I don't have my owner manual)
Yes, but there's a specification for the cars timing, and you need a timing light and the expertise to use it. Timing is changed by rotating the distributor.
Nope. The timing is completely under the control of the engine computer - You can't touch it.
You are going to damage your car trying to fix it yourself. Take it to a mechanic -- someone who knows what they are doing, which isn't you.

- How to remove ignition switch Cylinder from 98 ford crown victoria if the ignition cylinder is stuck? I have a 98 crown Victoria. And i used a wrong key by mistake yesterday and now my actual key won't work. I've tried removing the ignition lock cylinder but any video i watch on Youtube tells me to turn the key to replace ignition lock cylinder but i can't do that because its jammed. I've tried jiggling the steering wheel and turning the key but no luck. Pretty sure its the ignition lock cylinder but i can't get the damn thing out without turning the key
- Ford E350 Ignition Problem / NO spark Condition? I have tested spark from coil. I get nothing. Tested for 12 v to coil. Got it. Tested for pulse to coil, nothing. Tested Signal from PIP sensor, I get it. I would assume this means the ICM is bad, however, Had it tested at autozone 6 times, and it passes each time? Why is the coil not getting the signal of PIP is good and ICM is good? Also New Coil* Also, get solid light from ICM to Coil. No blinking on start. So the interrupt is not occurring. I THINK
