What makes a Nissan Versa much cheaper than Ford Fiesta by saving few thousand $ on msrp?

Comparison on both base model, i know it's both are same reliability, economical and rental grade cars. What makes the difference?

The cheapest Versa is even lower-rent than the Fiesta; the windows are manually cranked, the driver's seat is not adjustable for height, and if you don't want to stir your own gears, you'll have to move up to the next trim level, at $2000 more.

Then again, MSRP is mostly mythical; there's a number on the sticker, but very few actually pay that precise number.

Nissan is now owned by a French company and they make their cars in China.
