My ford fiesta doesn't start up and we have tried jump starting it to no avail?

I got my first car as a second hand car and don't know much about cars. It is a ford fiesta finesse 1999 and won't start up. Can I take it to ford to get it repaired?

Added (1). engine does not crank, no sparks, turning the key doesn make the engine crank at all

You can take it to a Ford garage for repairs - although it will probably be cheaper to use an independent garage.

If it won't start then you'll obviously need to make arrangements to get it to the garage. If you're a member of the AA, RAC, Greenflag etc. You may have cover for this already.

There are a number of possible reasons it won't start. If you can't check them out yourself, get a mobile mechanic to come and fix it.

Basically, an engine will go if a fuel and air mixture get into the cylinder head and there's a spark. First charge up the battery. If it won't stay charged, get a new one. If you don't have a battery charger, buy one. Check that the leads to the spark plugs are clean and dry. Take out the plugs and clean up the end. It may be that the carburetor flooded in your previous attempts to start it. Once the battery is charged and everything is back together, gently press the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold it there. Now try to start the car. Release the pedal once the engine is revving.

Do you think it would help if you at the very lease tell if the engine cranks over?

This is why a breakdown service is so useful.
You give us no clues as to when it ran? Does it crank? Have you got fuel?
Is there sparks?

You have not provided enough info for a diagnosis. I suggest you take it to a mechanic.

I can't help you without being there to see it. What you are asking is like calling the tattoo guy describing what you want and asking for a price without him being able to look at it

That would be a lot smarter than taking it to Jiffy Lube!
