What's good aftermarket parts for a 1992 ford 300 4.9l i6?

The truck is a 1992 f150 reg cab with longbed 4x4 xlt lariat 5speed with 341000 miles. Looking for aftermarket parts to increase hp, gas mileage, reliability, and torque

Nothing that increases horsepower and torque will improve fuel mileage.
however this engine was never allowed to breath, substantial gains can be achieved with a free flowing exhaust header and a large pipe cat back system [use 2high flow cats and 2 1/2 inch pipe] Clifford 6=8 engineering will sell you the header. More gains will be obtained using higher flow injectors.
the only real way to increase fuel mileage would optimize your differential gear ratios to suit your actual driving needs/tire size

  • Ford approved aftermarket parts? I have a 2014 Mustang V6 and was thinking of installing some aftermarket parts (ie: BBK Throttle Body, Airaid CAI, Roush axle back exhaust, tune, etc). But, the dealership said the parts would need to be Ford approved, in order to not void the warranties. He suggested Ford Racing, but they don't make many parts for a V6. All I could find was an axle back exhaust. So, my question is, are there any other Ford approved aftermarket parts for a 14 V6?
  • I have a 1975 Ford LTD, four door, with about 17,300 original miles with all the paper work for sale? This was my dad's and is going to be for sale. I'm curious what I should ask as the selling price on it. I don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is that green color that was popular back then with no damage and is very clean.
  • How to increase reliability on a Ford 300 inline 6? I know people say the Ford Inline 6 is pretty much bullet proof. I have one with 212k Miles and looking to rebuild it when I get some cash. Would Forged internals increase Reliability or just power. Now, if someone can give me a answer that'll make it more reliable and more power, well that's even better.
  • Ford 300 starts smoking from oil cap after 1 minute of runtime and radiator smells like a wet fire pit? It was running fine then it started acting hard to start off and smoking a little so I figured oil. Put some more in and it straightened up for a mile or so then started acting up worse. It began to have a knocking noise like an old diesel tractor. I don't understand what it is because it starts up just fine but won't run for more than a minute before it starts pudding and knocking. Also there are tiny pieces of rust chunks in the radiator and it smells like a wet fire pit.
