Trying to buy tires for my truck, what can I get for as cheap as possible?
I have a 1976 Ford F150 and the tires that are on it right now are 33 inch tall by 12 inch wide with a 15 inch rim. Which translates to a 305/75/15, these are definitely expensive and I can't find any on any tire site. It just says they aren't available. Where can I find some tires, where should I get them from and how much are they going to cost.
Look up 33 x 12.5 x 15 Tire rack has them. 305/75/15 is the car version. You want a truck tire. Stick with the brand names. You'll save a little money with the off brands but usually get less wear and poor handling. B.F. Goodrich KO is great all around tire with a stiff sidewall that's good on the highway as well as off-road.
- Can 225/70R16 tires fit on rims that have 225/70r14 tires on them? I have 225/70r14 tires on my Ford ranger. I just got some 225/70r16 tires of the same brand, Cooper, given to me. Will they fit on the 225/70r14 rims or do I need to get rims to fit the 225/70r16.
- Will a set of 235/60-R17 tires fit a vehicle with 225/50-R17 tires currently? If they do I'm assuming there would be a MPH difference on the speedometer. Update: The 60 series set is from a 2014 Ford Focus and are stud-less winter tires. They are to go on a 2012 Ford Fusion.
- What are the toughest tires money can buy for my ford focus hatchback? I'm looking for really tough tires for my car. The roads around my area are in horrible shape with lots of potholes, etc. What would be the most durable tires i could get for my focus?
