Is the new Ford F150 a good truck?
I'm in the market for a vehicle. However I want to get a truck with a real engine. Cylinders being shut off has never worked for anyone I know. With that being noted, Ford looks the best. Aluminum body though?
It's the best selling light truck in the country, for good reason.
I have a 2015 F 150 Supercrew Ecoboost 4x4. It replaced the 2011 of the same model. So far I like it just fine. It rides a bit rougher than the 2011 did because of the lighter weight. The aluminium body knocks about 700 pounds off the trucks weight. It's averaging about 17.9 MPG combined city/highway driving. It only has 3900 miles on it so it might improve as the engine breaks in. My 2011 improved after about 5000 miles. The aluminum body will be more expensive to repair if it gets damaged though. It's such a nice truck that 3 of my friends have gone and bought one after driving mine.
Absolutely. The body material is a brilliant idea.
Every truck is a good truck until the driver/owner beats it to death. If shutting down cylinders was such a bad idea it would not be used don't you think? Strange thing the human mind, how people get a idea in there head and all of the sudden it takes over and they just can't seem to be able to logic things out.

- Is the Ford f150 a good truck? I'm looking into getting my first car (I just turned 16). It is a 2003 Ford f150. It has around 135,000 miles. I would only use it around town. The seller is asking 5,000. If you think it is a good truck, what should I offer. I live in the country. I was in a hurry when asking the question.
- 95 f150 4.56 gears good for race truck? Hi have a 1995 ford f150 with a 302 and a auto O/D trans 8.8 rear 2wd long bed. I'm going to be running this truck in some local Smash up type Enduro races (Beechridge in Maine 1/3-mile, semi-banked asphalt track). Now my question is what would be the best cheap rear gear set for this truck to really make it take off without losing power i'm thinking 4.10's or 4.56's i don't need any top end obviously and it currently has 3.31 gears.
