How to determine the speed of my 1989 ford f150 automatic with a 302 v8 motor in it?
I bought the truck from my grandpa a couple of months ago & I literally know nothing about the truck other than it's a 2wd.
Old way was timing yourself on the highway from one mile marker to the next. Hold the vehicle at exactly 60 mph you should go a measured mile in 60 seconds. GPS has made it so much easier now to know how fast you are going and if your speedometer is right.
You can look at the speedometer when you are driving it. Or you can get an app for smart phones that use GPS to determine the speed of the vehicle.
- What is a good 5/6 speed Transmission that will fit onto a 302 Ford V8? I have a 1970 Ford Torino 500 and my C4 trans is failing. I'm kind of tired of the 3 speed, so I'd like to upgrade to a 5 or 6 speed to get better gas mileage at higher speeds, plus to go faster in general. I don't really mind if it's automatic or manual, but my car right now is set up for automatic.
- What Ford vehicles with a 302 motor comes with a 4 barrel carb (and only comes 302 with a 4bc)? I have a 1989 mustang gt motor and I'm making it carbureted and I'm looking for any vehicle with a 302 that carries a 4b. I'm going to a junkyard where they don't help with finding vehicles, so it would be helpful to know what vehicles only have a 302 with a 4bc, that way I can look it up on the website and know exactly where its at.
- Why won't the gas in my fuel tank go in the carburetor? 1984 Ford F-150 302 5.0 Automatic? I have put a new fuel tank, new starter, new battery, new fuel lines, the fuse is good for the fuel tank. I have at least a 1/4 of a tank in the fuel tank, i can only get it to run if i put gas directly into the carb, it won't flow from the furl tank to the carb. What should i do? Please Help. * i meant new fuel pump, not tank.
- I have a 1989 Ford F-150 2wd I recently swapped the motor, tranny, front and rear off a 94? I swapped everything off a 94 to make it automatic with 4wd but the plugs coming off the transmission don't match ou and I'm missing a big plug "the wiring is off the 89" and it won't shift I've changed the speed sensor and the transmission filter would those plugs not matching up cause it to not shift while driving?
