Ford f150 or chevy silverado?
I'm looking for a truck with good reliability safety and comfort and better fuel economy
With regular maintenance and I do take care of my vehicle. So I want a truck that with proper care, won't break down or be in the shop often.
I heard fords have bad transmissions and are always breaking down but I hear good things also, same with Chevys fuel pumps etc
I know each brand truck has it's pros and cons etc
Which truck is best? Also considering the toyota tundra of Tacoma
But very interested in the silverado and f150
Opinions and why you choose your truck

I would go with the F-150, I own a 2002 model which I got new and never had any major issues come up just had to replace a coil pack and brake rotor on it since I bought it.
I will answer this a little differently then what you are expecting. I'm a fleet mechanic for a large utility company in southern California. There are over 4000 pieces of equipment in our fleet. Mostly medium and heavy duty trucks. I would venture to say there are about 1000 light duty trucks made by Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge. I will add Jeep to that list as we have several SUVs made by Jeep. I can honestly say there's not one light truck better than the other. When I see them they are broke down. All of them. Each has their own inherent problems that has assured me there's not one manufacturer that stands above the rest.
I can't speak for the Tacoma as we have none in our fleet. I know nothing about them. They are a nice looking truck but I have no knowledge of them.
My advice is forget about reliability. All vehicles have problems. What you need to ask yourself is what do you want in a truck. What features draw you to a certain truck. Think of comfort and accessories. All new vehicles pretty much come with the same features. What do you feel good about sitting in one truck opposed to another?
To be fair the trucks in our fleet aren't garbage. They are all well built and maintained. Our driver seem to put each truck through the hardest tests imaginable. I will say all trucks seem to hold up well. But they do have their limits.
I wish you were asking me about heavy trucks. Yes we have a few thousand of them. I would say stay as far as possible from Navistar. Enough said.
Ford F-150
You've asked this same basic question 8 times now. What's the problem with making a decision?
Ford f150
- What truck should I get? SS silverado, Ram Rt, or ford lighting? I want a truck but which one should I get the ss comes with a 6.0 it's fast. The ram comes with a 5.7 hemi. The lighting comes with a 5.3. If you were me which one would you get. I don't care about horse power right now. So pick
- Why do my ford keys work in 01 Silverado and not the 04? They came out of a ford, but they look like ford ranger keys. I don't understand why they work on my friends 01 Silverado and not my 04?
- How long will a chevy silverado last? Trading in my ford ranger to many problems and issues. Anyways I'm looking at some used silverados they all have over 10000 miles on them. Are they built like toyota tundra and tacoma where they will last forever. In the 90s my mom owned a chevy caviler and a chevy mini van both had the transmission blow quickly and they leaked oil all over the place. Are the trucks like this are they good trucks
- Which should I consider 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 or 1998 Ford f150? I'm wanting to trade my car in for one of the 2 but which will give me less trouble to keep maintained
