Erratic idling ford f150?

Erratic idling ford f150?

If I said it once I've said it a thousand times. Clean the throttle body butterfly and the air by pass valve with carb cleaner.

I'd echo what JJ said… Clean the throttle body plate and bore area… And clean IAC and MAF sensor as well which should be done periodically. All three can get sooted up over time and affect airflow/idle speeds. Parts stores sell special MAF and TB spray cleaners. And run some Seafoam or Techron in the fuel tank per label directions to clean injectors /fuel system.

  • Why won't my car stay idling? I just put a new fuel pump on my 1976 ford gran torino and it won't idle at all unless I fill the fuel bowl up and when I do that it will idle for a little bit and then when I start it up again it will idle for a little bit less then a little bit less and so on until it won't idle at all?
  • 88 ford ranger. Idling at 1200-1500 RPMs and gets 12 MPG. What is wrong? The only thing i have done to it was clean the intake with B12. I also used jb40 with that. Seems like sometime after that this happened. The truck runs great, its just idling high and its using alot of gas. Some trobleshooting tips would be cool. I don't want to go replacing a bunch of stuff i don't need too. I appreciate your help.
  • 2006 Ford Ranger, lack of power and rough idling, what could be the problem? I have a 2006 Ford Ranger manual 4 x 4 sport, with 160,000 km (100,000 miles) that I bought back in August. It ran well until today. On my way to work, I drove a few blocks when I noticed when I accelerated there was little power, and it was idling rough. I drove it back home and noticed there was this black soot coming out of the exhaust. I can't have it seen until the 2nd, so I'm just looking for any insight on what the problem can be.
  • 2000 ford ranger stalling and shutting off while idling? I have a quick question, last night I ran over a deer, the truck started stalling and would not pick up speed and accelerate Like it suppose to. The muffler was hanging and the oxygen sensor cable came unplugged, could that be the issue? Or any other ideas? The bottom looks solid nothing is damaged or bent, I did plug the oxygen sensor back, but no luck
