Dash lights, Climate Control, and lights on doors not working on Ford F-150 2002 with new after market stereo head?
DETAILS FROM THE QUESTION: Along with those interior lights being out, the odometer will occasionally turn on then slowly fade away to a blank display. The head and tail lights work perfectly fine, it's just those interior lights that don't work at all, even when I replaced a fused.
Did you have to tap to an ignition wire? Return the connections to its original setup and install the stereo head with its own circuit independent from the truck wiring system.
Probably had the lights switching wire wired to the earth of the head unit
Apparently whoever installed your new stereo screwed up the wiring in your truck.
Find a COMPETENT electrician to wire in your stero head. The last one screwed up your electrics.
Someone hooked the wiring up wrong.
Check the fuses yet?
Hi so this is hardly surprising in such an old truck.
Re-do the installation correctly.
Gee, that's too bad. So, do you have a question to ask or are you just here to whine about your problems? Forum rules require you to actually ask a question. You can review any 4th grade English book if you've forgotten how to compose an interrogative sentence such as "Why am I having these problems?" If that is what you meant to ask, I'd ask the dumbass who installed your stereo what he did wrong.
Fuse blown, bud
- 99 Ford ranger XLT base model. Park lights, dash lights, and license plates lights out I checked online and realized it was probably a fuse which it is. Fuse 11 in my power distribution box. The problem is I keep replacing at and soon as I turn on my lights it blows instantly. Have replaced it multiple times. So then I looked under my truck and disconnected the wiring to my taillights and replaced the fuse, it worked it didn't blow. Dash lights and license plates lights were on so I figured some where there's a problem with the brake lights. Any suggestions?
- Headlights, instrument cluster lights, tail lights, and dome light all stopped working at once? 1995 Mustang GT convertible, fuses are good, switch is good. I'm about to do a voltage drop test on it tomorrow but I wanted to see if you Ford guys knew something that I'm overlooking.
- Dash Light Not Working For 2003 Ford Mustang What To Do? Just Bought It And Found Out the Dash Will Not Light When i Turn The Lights On. Was Told It Could Be A Bad Fuse But I Don't Know Which Number Fuse It Is. What Do I Need To Do?
- After market stereo installation? I have a single din radio and installation kit for my 2006 Ford Fusion. I also have an 800w amp and a 10in sub that I want to hook up. Does anyone know the specific types of wires and everything else that I ll need to hook it all up?
