Make a 4 wheel drive a dually?
I have a 1989 ford f-150 four wheel drive and was wondering if I could turn it into a dually
You could. At one time there were places that sold kits. Not sure if they still do or not. If you really like the dually look why not just find a 4x4 dually, they are not rare unless you are down south.
Replace the rear axle and add some fender flares
You'd need the axle from an F-350 and probably the bed from one as well. Ford never made a dually F-150 as the other components of the F-150 like the brakes, suspension and transmission weren't up to the task of handling the kind of weight that an F-350 dually was made to handle. From a functionality standpoint it would be foolish make a dually out of an F-150. It just screams "poseur" to me.
- Insert the key and doesn't turn. Steering wheel locked. Shifter stuck in park. Can start by mechanical part under wheel. What could it be? 1999 ford f150 won't come out of park or start even when I start it using the mechanical part under the steering wheel
- Will an all wheel drive wheel bearing fit a rear wheel drive wheel bearing? The front passenger wheel bearing is bent on my 96 ford explorer but someone with a 97 ford explorer sold me one will it still fit an work? Ours is a rear wheel drive the other car is an all wheel drive please give info I don't know much about cars
- Should the revised 2016 Ford Explorer ditch front-wheel drive for rear-wheel drive? Which midsize, non-luxury SUV uses RWD these days? Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota 4Runner, a used Chevrolet TrailBlazer or GMC Envoy. Not to mention the Nissan Xterra.
- I have a 94 ford explorer and the wheel drive won't work? Both the 4 high and 4 low doesn't work. I checked the hubs and they are fine. I here a click when i press the button and i can hear it click under the truck and the light turns on and everything as if its working but its not engaged. And when i'm driving i can hear it clicking. Any ideas?
