I have a 94 ford explorer and the wheel drive won't work?
Both the 4 high and 4 low doesn't work. I checked the hubs and they are fine. I here a click when i press the button and i can hear it click under the truck and the light turns on and everything as if its working but its not engaged. And when i'm driving i can hear it clicking. Any ideas?
Solenoid is shot… Any four wheel drive that has a push button transfer case is a Piece Of S***!
Djaca70 may not like them but there's a reason most 4WDs have push button transfer case shifters. Its because most driver's want them versus the old trusty manual shifter on the floor. Why? For the same reasons its getting harder to find a manual shift transmission in any truck… Convenience. Consider for moment however, that manual shifters have their down sides also. They can jam, get rusted or corroded from lack of use or road salts and fail just wehn you need them. See any similarities there? Solenoids fail just as manual shifters can fail, in either case it can be expected over time so the question is which one is preferable? Depends on the user, if you want convenience, its the solenoid, if you want that mechanical connection, feel its a manual. Solenoids are pretty dependable devices, consider how many of us even remember the old starter pedal that used to be mounted on firewall on old cars. Not many, we opted for the convenience of a solenoid to do that job years ago. Wonder how many would want to go back to those days? In answer to your question, replace the solenoid and the button will take care of the shifting like it always did.
- I searched on cars.com and found Ford Mustangs with FWD, AWD and 2 wheel drive, are those ads fake? Seriously, there's listings on cars.com with Ford Mustangs and even camaros and challengers that was listed as having AWD or fwd or 2 wheel drive. This makes no sense to me because as Far as I know, these cars only come in RWD! So are these ads false or do these cars actually have the option of changing the drivetrain?
- My horn in my truck is broken and can be fixed and won't work with my new steering wheel? I have an '86 ford f150 and the new steering wheel I have won't work with the hook ups to my horns. And they are broken anyways. Is there any type of system or car horn set that I can get and that is easy to install. I don't want train horns. I have a CB radio if there's anything I can do with that. If you can, can you please post links to parts or anything I might need to buy?
