94 ford f-150 and 95 ford f-150?

Ok so i have a problem i have a 94 ford f-150 with a 5.0 and a aod trany how ever the trans went out recently works fine when cold but once it warms up have to give some gas just for it to move, i boughty a 95 f-150 to replace the trans well this has the 5.8 with a e40d thought about transfer the trany over but unsure about the wireing of the tranys, both harnesses seem to be the same were plug in at the engine bay.trany is allready out of the 95 with new seals installed so do i need to pull the computer as well? Or the motor too? Need some help please, if any one has done this let me know

Did you change filter and fluid on original first? Just drive the 95

I do not know the difference if any, but can find out tomorrow. In the meantime, try ford trucks message board

Can't interchange the two transmissions the wiring and computer are different along with the flywheels linkage will be different and the neutral safety switch. If both 4wd then the t-case will be different along with the linkage. Can't interchange a 4x4 with a 4x2 without taking the transmissions apart to change the output shafts

The 1994 wouldn't have the AOD, it would have the AOD-E, different transmissions despite the names being close. Anyway Bo is correct, the E4OD and AOD-E are not directly interchangeable. It's probably going to be easier just to have the AOD-E rebuilt
