1979 ford f150 302 v8 problems! Crank no start?

My 79 ford has a 302 small block ford, I had to replace the starter in my truck a week ago due too it wasn't kicking back. But before I put the new one on I would start the truck to let it warm up due too it was below 20 degrees. But the truck started to have problems starting it would crank and crank. Then I would dump some gas in the carb and it would crank for a bit then slowly start to fire up. But other I replaced the old starter and had the new one I went to go start the truck and a it did was crank. I poured gas in the carb, and it would just crank and crank. I replaced the coil and I replaced the plug wires. And I got spark and fuel and good compression but still not firing over. Could have something went bad? Or something? I beer disconnected any wires or touch the engine while changing the starters

Don't pour gas down carb first use starter fluid next replace plugs distributor cap and rotor make sure your plug wires are in the corect firing order

CRAZY THING ABOUT IT, IT WILL START WITH A 6CYL COMPUTER IN IT TILL THE FUEL RUNS OUT OF THE LINE BUT REPLACE IT WITH THE CORRECT ONE AND NOTHING BUT BACKFIRING IF YOU EVEN GET THAT. REPLACED WIRING HARNESS ALSO. ANY Help WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

  • What Ford vehicles with a 302 motor comes with a 4 barrel carb (and only comes 302 with a 4bc)? I have a 1989 mustang gt motor and I'm making it carbureted and I'm looking for any vehicle with a 302 that carries a 4b. I'm going to a junkyard where they don't help with finding vehicles, so it would be helpful to know what vehicles only have a 302 with a 4bc, that way I can look it up on the website and know exactly where its at.
  • Ford 302 no start no crank 1979 Ford ranchero 302. No noise or power when the key is turned. I have strong headlights no dimming but no radio. Sometimes it will crank right up but most of the time just no life. The battery is good the solenoid and starter are good.
