1977 ford f150 driver side raises up and shuts off when you put it in gear?

It has sat a few years

There may be little wrong with it. It may have a broken motor mount on the drivers side and this allows it to lift up when power is applied. The lifting up may close the gas linkage or short the ignition somehow.

Well I just broke the rear end in half literally!

Sounds like you have a wheel locked up, or the rear end is locked up. The front end is raising due to engine torque. Is it a standard shift or automatic transmission? It won't move on it's own, right? Can you push it while in neutral? Shuts off due to not being able to move, or it just shuts off as soon as it is put in gear, with brake on? The answers to these questions may help us determine the problem.
