Why did ford discontinue the 2nd generation explorer?
Those were the best ones ever.
Well, the Firestone debacle certainly didn't help it's image.
Firestone debacle certainly
They didn't discontinue it, it was upgraded when they went to the 3rd generation. With the IRS and third row it was a more desirable vehicle. It rode better, handled better and had more room.
On what planet is the previous one a better SUV?
Had two of them… All you had to do was put LT tires on them. Straighten that marshmellow chassis feel right out.
To much weight to small wheelbase/width. They drove like a spaghetti noodle under a boil! Scare me at highway speeds. Reminded me of a dog with parvo honestly
- Why is the younger generation so extreme to either side? There are so many people nowadays who are either hardened socialists or hardened white supremacists. They're both dumb. Moderation is best. Obama is best. Romney is best. Hillary Clinton is best. McCain is best. Bush (the older one) is best. Bill Clinton is best. Gerard Ford is best. **** that retard Trump or that crazy socialist Bernie.
- Why my cars gear stick popping out from 1st to 3rd gear, from 2nd to 4th? The car is Ford Focus 2002 1.8tdci. Poppong out from 1st gear to 3rd and from 2nd to 4th. Reverse works fine, I'm able to start to drive car from 3rd gear with balancing clutch and acceleration. No strange noises thou.
- What generation Ford Explorer should I get? I'm a 16 year old guy and I have decided that I want a Ford Explorer as my first car. What generation do I get? There are 5 generations. (1991-94, 1995-01, 2002-05, 2006-2010) Here's what I'm looking for. -Reliability -Long lasting -Style -Best driving in the snow I graduate in 2016. I will have this truck through 4 years of college.
- Transmission slipping 1st and 2nd gears with overdrive light on. 1995 ford explorer? When I come to a complete stop I give it gas and as soon as the gear engages I let off gas right away and slowly gas it then. If you were to just floor it in these first 2 gears it will slip. It drives fine and shifts fine in higher gears. Any ideas? 125,000 miles on this car.
