Where is the power steering on a 2002 Ford Explorer?
The power steering pump is on the front of the engine, powered by the serpentine belt. Then there are two hoses that come off the pump & go down to the steering gear part of the system.
On the 4.0 liter engine, the power steering pump is driven by the serpentine belt. It is located on the drivers side of the engine directly below the power steering fluid resivoir. Follow the belt and you will find the pump. Here is a photo of the resivoir.
