What is causing the 4high and4low dash lights to flicker on my 1999 ford explorer?

The 4high and4low flash when starting and driving every 2 min. I have tried putting in and out of 4 wheel drive and that didn't work. The four wheel drive settings are knob controlled on dash.

My bet would be the switch for that light mounted on the transfer case. Easy replacement, unplug wires, remove old one, install new one reconnect wires.

  • 99 Ford ranger XLT base model. Park lights, dash lights, and license plates lights out I checked online and realized it was probably a fuse which it is. Fuse 11 in my power distribution box. The problem is I keep replacing at and soon as I turn on my lights it blows instantly. Have replaced it multiple times. So then I looked under my truck and disconnected the wiring to my taillights and replaced the fuse, it worked it didn't blow. Dash lights and license plates lights were on so I figured some where there's a problem with the brake lights. Any suggestions?

I have a 1983 ford ranger, I come on here when I can't find something out about it, The dash lights do not come on and I don't know why everything else works except the dash lights, I don't understand, I haven't checked any fuses yet I will do that tomorrow, but I don't think that is the case since it is wired to the headlights which work perfectly fine, thanks!
  • What could be causing turning lights to not always turn on? I have a 1999 Ford F150, owned it for about a year now, and recently (as in the past week) when I turn the indicator on, sometimes the lights won't flash. When they do work, the dash arrows flash and click like they re supposed to, but when they don't nothing happens. Hazards work fine. Just wondering if anyone might have a suggestion as to what needs to be replaced/repaired
  • Dash lights and gauges on 2008 ford Escape turn off while driving? While driving my vehicles dash lights and gauges turn off and drop to 0. If I hit or tap the dash everything goes back to normal. If the vehicle is shut off in this state it will not start unless I hit the dash in the 'start' position to get thr lights on then turn it to off then it starts fine. Becoming increasingly worse. What could be causing this?
