What could be causing turning lights to not always turn on?

I have a 1999 Ford F150, owned it for about a year now, and recently (as in the past week) when I turn the indicator on, sometimes the lights won't flash. When they do work, the dash arrows flash and click like they re supposed to, but when they don't nothing happens. Hazards work fine. Just wondering if anyone might have a suggestion as to what needs to be replaced/repaired

Contacts in the switch are worn out - replace the switch

The hazard lights work from a different switch and flasher unit than the turn signals. The fact that the hazards work is not relevant. It sounds to me that your turn signal switch is not making a good connection, and it MAY need to be replaced. First, though I would try shooting the switch with some electrical contact cleaner to see if that resolves the problem.

Your flasher has pooped. There cheap and easy. Replace the flasher!

  • Break lights are always on in my 1998 Ford Taurus wagon? The break lights won't turn off, it's like I'm constantly pushing the brake when I'm not, the only time they turn off is when the car is off. I want other drivers to know when I'm actually breaking, how do I fix this?
  • 99 Ford ranger XLT base model. Park lights, dash lights, and license plates lights out I checked online and realized it was probably a fuse which it is. Fuse 11 in my power distribution box. The problem is I keep replacing at and soon as I turn on my lights it blows instantly. Have replaced it multiple times. So then I looked under my truck and disconnected the wiring to my taillights and replaced the fuse, it worked it didn't blow. Dash lights and license plates lights were on so I figured some where there's a problem with the brake lights. Any suggestions?
  • My car is making noise when I turn the wheel, what could be causing it? I put power steering fluid in and double checked it to make sure it was full, which it is. But whenever I turn the wheel it still makes a terrible noise, i almost want to not drive it anymore just because of that noise. Anyone have an idea what it could be? Is it the power steering pump maybe? If it helps, my car is a 2001 Ford Mustang, FWD. The noise is coming from the front of the car.
  • 2014 Ford Fiesta - exterior lights not turning off? Only noticed today when I caught the reflection off the car in front but I had my lights in the off position (nob in upright position) yet my headlights were still on? I don't have automatic headlights nor do I have the LED Daytime Running Lights (as it's only the zetec model), so I'm a little confused? Any thoughts? Or is it a fault and I need to go back to the garage?
