Suspension Kit for Truck?
I have 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and have had just about enough of the teeth rattling jolts on this thing. However, knowing nothing about suspension I've no idea where to start.
What I do know from some surface research is that I'm more in the market for coils and dampeners than a full lift kit. In fact, that s exactly what I need. Not a lift lift whatsoever just the coils and dampeners.
So the question is, do I have to find a set made specifically for my truck? Or can I just buy universal kit for medium truck dimensions and have it done at a shop?

Yes. Just about any auto parts store can get you the proper parts. Also it should be mentioned that your sport trac has leaf springs in the rear. Coil springs in the front.
Rock Auto has the OEM shocks for around $35-$40 per corner, Front coil springs with mount cost around $55-$60 per side, and new leaf springs are $275 (not sure if that's for a pair or a single leaf spring, but it's unlikely they require replacement). These prices do not include the cost of labor obviously.
Hi so just have the suspension replaced with new and new shock absorbers.
- 01 Ford Taurus suspension noise. Recent work done? HI Today I just replaced the front Springs and struts, lower ball joints, and sway bar links. I still have a clunking noise that sounds like a hollow metal clanking noise that I can hear really well at low speeds and small bumps. Sounds like a hollow metal pipe clanking with another pipe if that helps.
- Suspension creaking/moaning over bumps or breaking at low speeds? My 2004 Ford falcon has a bad moaning/creaking sound come from the front left of the car when going over small bumps or breaking what could this be?
- Would a long travel suspension kit built for a Ford Ranger Edge/Sport also fit on a Ranger XLT? I found a long travel suspension kit made for a 2002 ranger edge/sport but I have a XLT same year. Would it still fit on and function the same?
- Do I need an stereo install kit for a single din radio? I'm trying to install a single din aftermarket radio into my 94 ford ranger, the stock radio is a single din so I was wondering do I need to to buy a stereo install kit?
