Do I need an stereo install kit for a single din radio?
I'm trying to install a single din aftermarket radio into my 94 ford ranger, the stock radio is a single din so I was wondering do I need to to buy a stereo install kit?
A mounting kit is made to adapt an after-market head unit to fit a larger dash opening. If the new head unit is a perfect fit for the dash opening, as in your Ranger, then no mounting kit is needed.
If you have a single din stock radio all you need to secure your new radio is the original sleeve of your new radio not a dash kit
Unless you want it to flop around in the cavity, of course you do.
Try to do a search on Google, maybe that will work out

- How to install a car stereo on your own? I have an '05 Ford Focus ZX4, and I want to replace my useless default radio unit, and install a new one that I got from my friend, a Pioneer DEH-150MP. Now keep in my mind that i'm not that great with cars and don't have much experience. Appreciate the help!
- How to install a new car stereo? I've seen videos online, and these videos make it seem like you buy the adapter kit, buy your new stereo, and you can literally plug in and go. Somehow I don't think that is the case. So please, detail the actual process for me if you can. If it helps, I have an '02 plate Ford Fiesta.
