Its the wheel bearings if you hear growling when making sharp turns. Trust me I know I just had 2 bearings put cost me about 380

Pinion bearings? What are you taking about.
Most likely the growling noise is your wheel bearings or entire hub because the bearings have eaten away at the inside of the hubs.

take it to a shop and have them look at it. Most will inspect and quote for free. Les schwab will.

  • Low growling sound while in park on my car? I have a 2000 Ford Taurus, 150,000 miles, when I drove home today, as I put it in park, I noticed it started to make a low growling/grinding sound. When I switched out to neutral or drive or reverse, the sound went away. I have also noticed that when I'm parked uphill (like I'm now), it is harder to switch to drive or reverse. So my question is what that growling/grinding sound could be?
  • One shop tells me hose is kinked, another says bad wheel bearing, what is going on? Someone mentioned we should replace the wheel because it was warped, we replaced the wheel. We then had the same issue and shop mentioned we need to replace wheel bearing. We shopped around and went to another shop that said wheel bearing is fine, but the brake hose is kinked. They state that the kinked brake hose is causing the wobble sound… 2007 Ford Fusion SE
