OD Light on and need to go on trip, Is it safe?
Okay so long story short my 2000 Ford Explorer has the OD light problem… Again. I've fixed it once by putting a solenoid pack in it. I have to make a 3 1/2 hr trip tonight, and this is my only form of transportation. Should I risk it? The vehicle drives perfectly. It's been a tank since I've owned it. When the light kicks on the only problem is it shifts hard into gear. Should I risk the drive or no?
Its your overdrive light, which means its on, you want that on a trip. Have you tried pushing the button on the shift lever?
I'd say go for it; if the transmission is about to fail, you may as well get it over with.
- What's the difference between the map light and dome light? I have a 2003 Ford Taurus SES sedan. I want to put LED interior lights. I was looking it up and I has dome and map lights? So I looked up the difference and the only thing that kept showing was the overhead dome housing?
- My 2000 Ford Taurus won't shift into fourth gear is it ok on a 700 mile round trip drive? I have a 2000 ford Taurus and it doesn't shift into fourth gear anymore. Its been that way for 2 years. It runs fine just doesn't shift into fourth gear and the transmission light does come on after a while of driving it. I was wondering if it would be ok to take it on a 700 mile round trip drive? I know its not good for it I just need to know if I'm going to be stranded on the highway somewhere because my trans went out.
- 2003 Ford Taurus SES oil light and gas cap light? My cars oil light (red) and gas cap light (yellow light down and left from the oil light) is on in my car. I used a scan tool and no codes came up. It's not leaking oil and everything is fine. I just do not know why the two lights are on? I bought the car about two months ago and the lights were on before i bought the car… any reason they're on?
