I would start with a intake system. Even a k&n air filter adds a little power. You could also tune it, put a high flow exhaust, under-drive pulleys, or even weight reduction helps.
Chip tuning (ecu programming), another wheels, another transmission, another exhaust system, turbo charger, better air intake, etc. There's a lot.
If it's the 4.6 l cammer V-8, most bolt-ons for a same period Mustang will fit. How much more do you want? The Mustang has better heads, like the police car heads, & that will pick-up some power. If you want more, there's NOx & blowers. A stock block 4.6 can handle around 6 psi of boost & maybe 500 hp before it splits in two.
