Heat in car taking awhile to hear up?
I have 04 ford explorer that I purchased 2 months ago. I'm just starting to turn the heat on because it just starting to get cold. And it always takes about 15 min to get hot. After it gets hot it will last maybe 2 minutes than go to cold than back to hot and will just keep doing that it never just stays hot. What could make the heat do this. I've heard coolant can be low so I'm putting that in first thing in the morning. But could this be electrical or something else other than coolant.
Do you have an engine temperature gauge? The heater core uses engine coolant for the heat. It sounds like the thermostat in the engine could be sticking open making the engine run cooler than it should be. Either that or your HVAC controls are acting up. The thermostat for the engine cooling system would be my prime suspect though.
Replace the heater matrix behind the dash board.
They have trouble with the blend doors. Very hard to get to.
- I have a 2000 Ford Windstar that won't start. When I turn the key all I hear is a clunk noise? Battery good, starter good, cables good, fuel system good. No indication before hand that anything was going bad. One morning just went to start and NOTHING.
- I have a 2000 dodge caravan and the rear heat works great but the front heat blows cold? The blower motors all work fine, has new water pump and brand new coolant. The top vents in the dash blow lukewarm warm but if you switch it to defrost it comes out ice cold but the rear heat still blows super hot air. Coolant level is full. I've read about the blend door could that be the issue? Could a coolant line to the front dash be clogged? I'm a ford mechanic but kinda stumped and have never worked on a dodge.
- Will I be able to hear my subwoofer? I drive a 2011 ford fusion and i have just laying around a pioneer shallow mount 12 inch subwoofer that peaks @ 1000watts max. If I run a 1000watt amp will i be able to hear it in my trunk? Keep in mind my backseat does not fold down.
- When I turn on my ac the fan instantly comes on, and the car shudders like the ac is taking all the power? It also blows really cold unless it's real real hot… If it's real hot it tries to blow cold for awhile… Then starts blowing warm air. If I turn it off for a while, it will start blowing cold air again… For a minute. (I live in Florida) 2003 Ford focus 125000 miles Repairs… Serpentine belt, alternator several times, water pump, and a few other things. It started after I took my car in to the shop to have my alternator/serpentine belt replaced.
