Are Ford explorers good vehicles?
Particular those from 05-07 era

Some are, some are not. Every used car is different, depending on how it's been driven and maintained.
During the "cash for clunkers" program a few years ago, the Ford Explorer was the most traded vehicle, so that should tell you something.
So many about and not all well looked after it can be a case of pot luck! Do ensure you get a warranty with a used vehicle. If they won't offer one? Was. If buying privately its important we get an engineers report.

- Is Ford switching all their vehicles into ecoboost engines? Why is Ford heavily advertising their Ecoboost engines a lot? I know is suppose to boost up fuel economy and horsepower but they taking out V8 engines. Other Auto companies they refine their V8s and make them fuel efficient or at least increase mpg. Ford is like ditching V8 and put V6 twin turbo to solve their problem quickly to me. Anyone agree?

- Why do Ford Explorers fishtail when swerving to avoid something on the highway? 2000 Ford Explorer with 34K miles on it, driving at night on trip came upon a tractor trailer with no taillights that the trailer brakes had locked up on and didn't see it until I got up on it and swerved to the left and the vehicle fishtailed. It was dangerous enough coming up on the unlit trailer and then to fishtail in avoiding an accident is a bit much. Need to know what can cause the fishtailing. Is it a common occurrence with Ford
