6 disk cd changer in 03 ford explorer problem?

I just bought a '03 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition from a private dealer. I really only needed a running vehicle I didn't care for the extras but it'd be nice if I could get them to work. I'm having 2 problems.

1. The 6 disc cd thing in the front keeps reading "CD error" and tells me "All slots are full". I never put any CDs in but the person before might have. They won't eject or anything, is there any way to eject them any other way. I really don't wanna take the whole thing apart and risk breaking something more.

2. The dvd player in the back with the tv isn't working. Recently my aunt got a disk jammed into it (i don't know how she was messing with stuff when I wasn't there) but before it did put the disc in and eject properly. But besides that the screen flickers like its trying to come on but it doesn't. Any tips on this?

SN: I'm not too worried about it to the point I want to go pay a shop to get it fixed at the moment, maybe later on when I get other things done but I'd like to see if i can fix it myself. I'm pretty good with electronics. I can take apart computers and stuff but i don't know about these problems.

Disc changers really break after a lot of use, this is because of the small moving parts to move the discs wear out in time, even the DVD player.

It is not worth fixing, the best thing to do is have them replaced, its cheaper that way and you can get a name brand that will last.

Get a replacement Cd changer on e-bay & replace it.

  • Where is the cd changer in a ford festiva 2000? The stereo says 'cd changer controller'. But I can't find it. I heard it was an optional extra. Could it say that on the unit but still not have the actual cd changer in it? Would that mean I'm only stuck with the cassette player?
  • Car acceleration problem and idle problem. The car is a 2003 Ford Taurus? . When the car is running and in parked its making a loud consisted rev noise. However the rpm needle thingy is not moving. when i'm in drive the car acclerates on its own with the speed ever increasing. i did some googling and learned that it can be the TPS sensor or the idle air intake valve, among a million other possiblities.
