2002 Ford Explorer xlt rear axle online?

Looking for a 2002 Ford Explorer xlt 4 door 4x4 rear axle. Differential went out and want to go ahead and swap an axle. Can't find any in person so I've been looking online. Seem to only find 2 door sport and sport track axles. Any help would be appreciated. Ratio is 3.73

2002 has the first year for the IRS setup in the Explorer. You'll probably just want to replaced the center section. A new center section with spider gears goes for around $200-$250 for an open diff. A rebuild kit runs around $100-$150 but you would have to pay a mechanic to do the labor.

Your Explorer does have the typical 8.8 inch solid axle that Ford used in just about everything. It has the 8.8 inch IRS which is much more rare. That's probably why you haven't come across any in junkyards. Also swapping the entire IRS assembly is more difficult than swapping a solid axle.
