Ford 9 inch rear axle 55'' overall length?
I'm building a project car and am looking for a model of the ford 9 inch rear axle that is 55 inches in total length (from backing plate to backing plate) that came stock in a car ford made. A link to an axle that fits these criteria would also be great;y appreciated.
Backing plate measurements are irrelevant. Wheel mounting surface is what everyone goes by, common term is wms. Search ford 9 inch wms and you'll find people sharing numbers.
Hi sorry but this statement makes no sense.
- Which car is the overall to keep for a couple of yrs? 1999 Nissan maxima, 1999 Altima, 2006 ford Taurus or 2002 buick lesabre? All of them have low mileage as the Taurus have 69000 and the maxima have the highest of 123000. They all under 1100 bucks.
- Can I swap 15 inch tire an rim with a 16 inch tire an rim? The rims an tires are off a dodge van, they are 5 hole rims, the car I want to put them on is a ford taurus with a 16 inch tire on it.
- Is my 9 inch rear end limited slip? I have a ford 9 inch in my 72 4x4 truck. When I jack it up and spin the driver's side wheel, the drive shaft turns but the passenger side wheel does not. If I turn the passenger side wheel, the drive shaft turns but the driver's side wheel does not. If I turn the drive shaft by hand, only the passenger side wheel turns. Since both wheels turn the drive shaft, does this mean I have posi? If so, why don't the wheels turn each other when I turn one?
- Ford or Chevy truck which is more reliable overall? I like the looks of both. Which is a better truck overall mpg safety reliability being he big one for me. It would be used from 2005-2014 model year and 4x4 4 door to Which truck model is best and why? I had a Tacoma I loved but need a bigger truck
