Should I buy a Midsize SUV, or Large SUV?

My father is looking to buy a SUV next month…
He thinks Large Suvs are too huge, and they look ugly… He thinks midsize suvs look smart…
But he is confused about it too… He also wants to buy a large suv because he likes a spacious car…

The options for Midsize are like (Ford Explorer, Dodge Durango, Nissan pathfinder, Jeep Cherokee etc)

Options for Large SUV are (Chevrolet suburban, Ford Expedition, GMC yukon, toyota sequoia etc)

So I'm looking for some advice, from someone who is experienced in buying suvs and has some advice maybe? Recommend us whether to buy a large suv a midsized suv? Tell me your experience?

Petrol does not matter much, as it is very cheap here in KSA…

Thanks in advance, recommended me which car to buy if you want too.

Well it's up to what you really like large SUVs are the large or extended envoy or the extended 8 seated escalade and if it's your first SUV get mid sized. Large SUVs are for huge families

I just purchased a 2015 Suburban LT. Luxury at it's finest. Lay the two back seat rows down and a full size sheet of plywood will fit. Storage galore. Smooth, quiet, excellent. For just the wife and I. Why? Because.

Why are you being a typical american and buying a oversized car which you don't really use

buy something small and economical and don't follow the heard of fools

Saudi Arabia? Is that where you are located? No matter the price of petrol there's no need to waste it just because. Any SUV is not fuel efficient anyway no matter the size. However, larger vehicles are difficult to park, can be a hazard in high winds and more difficult to handle in traffic. I do not recommend the larger size anything.

A Suburban is a beast, will eat fuel (which you said doesn't really matter), and is fun to drive. However, if you need something that can deal with crowded roads, has to take corners, and fit into typical parking spaces, you should go with an Explorer.

I've rarely regretted having a mid-size SUV in my family. If I could afford the fuel for a full-size, I probably would go that route.

His purchase should be based on need, not appearance. If he need the larger capacity he should consider the Suburban, Expedition or Yukon if not the smaller SUVs are easier to drive.

Depends if you want okay gas mileage or bad gas mileage

Mid size
Rav4
Outlander sports

Full size
Highlander

  • Will GM ever return to the medium-duty large truck market? (I.e.: C4500, C5500, C6500, C7500)? GM bailed on this market in 2010(ish). And with the success of Ford implementing it's Powerstroke Diesel into their F-650 and F-750, I can't help but wonder if GM will respond in kind with their Duramax Diesel in a new medium-duty platform. Is there anything coming down the pike?
  • Which of these midsize sedans is the best? All of these would be brand new. Chevy Malibu Ford Fusion Honda Accord Toyota Camry Volkswagen Passat
  • What kind of SUV should I buy? I currently have a 2013 Ford Fusion that has given me an array of problems. We're wanting a mid-sized SUV, like a Hyundai Sante Fe Sport, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 etc. I don't need high tech or fancy and can't afford the luxury kind. Just one that has good gas mileage, reliable for years to come, easy to drive and one that has clear sight lines. With my current car, I can barely see out of it simply to back up. Also, any suggestions can be a couple years old.
  • Should I buy a Ford Focus Zx3 or should I look for a different car? I'm a male going to college as a sophmore next semester (this car will be my first car). Should I buy a stick or an automatic (I don't know how to drive a stick at the moment, but I'm willing to learn)? What do you think would be more fun? Do you think a ford focus Zx3 is a good car for me or do you have any other car suggestions?
