Loud pop then loss of power. 03 Ford expedition 4x4 5.4?
While driving one day I heard a loud pop and it lost power. I had a bad coil pack before this so I thought it was the same thing again. Had it scanned sure enough coil #1 misfire primary/secondary circit. Changed the coil pack forgot to reset the computer, not far down the road it started again. So buy coil pack and plug replace still same thing only never got better this time. So do I replace it again and try to unhook the battery before starting it even though the battery died and I had to jump it. Is that enough to reset the code? Help I don't know what else to try it's just getting worse now 1 and 4 are bad. Could my engine be blown?
At what point do you stop doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different result? It's time to test compression
I'm not a mechanic, but I'm guessing that the problem is something OTHER THAN the cylinder #1 coil pack.
Only someone who can look at the vehicle in person would have a chance to be able to diagnose the problem. Diagnosing on the internet won't work.
- How is fording a river in a manual 4x4 different to an automatic 4x4? I had forded a river with a LR Defender before and usually stuck it in Low 2nd gear and push through the river at 2-3k rpm. Luckily I never got stuck in the middle but I remember reading somewhere that it is easier to ford rivers with an automatic gearbox due to the lack of clutch housing? Since automatic gearbox won't really stall in the middle of the river, would it be okay to shift it in reverse if stuck?
- My 2003 ford expedition won't start. I get one loud click When i turn the key I can hear one loud click coming from the starter. I have a good battery. I also can feel the relay ingage when you turn the key.
- 2006 Ford Expedition - sudden loud pop/bang no power. Then intermittent power at 3000rpms not shifting? Heard a loud pop/bang and suddenly no power when driving… Turned the car off and was 'going' but shifting horribly and intermittently. No check engine lights on dash. Turned off overdrive and power was better but only beyond 3000rpms… Any thoughts?
- Can you tow a pop up camper with a 2014 ford escape that does not have the tow package? I bought it brand new it is a "S" model. So it does not come with the towing package. I recently installed a hitch receiver and my wife wants a pop up camper. My only question is weather i can tow a pop up camper or not. Please no troll posts
