Best college car for 19y/o?

I worked and now need a new car as i sold my old one now have money for a new car, i was looking at hatchbacks as i love hatchbacks, My past cars were a 2002 ford expedition xlt and 2004 pt cruiser. My current ford focus, mazda 3, vw golf i will even consider the civic but i like hatchback styling, i would want it to last awhile and be reliable(one less thing i can worry about ) i don't care for HID headlights i will do fine with regular, a sunroof is a must as is a backup camera, i don't care for push button but wouldn't mind it, good stereo system is a must. What would you guys choose?

You've had 2 cars in three years? Are you wrecking them or just selling them? That's important because, if you are in the habit trading cars every year or two, it doesn't matter that much.

If you are going to keep it, Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic are top of the heap. The Nissan Sentra, Ford Focus, and Mazda3 are next. The Chevy Cruze and Koreans next, and Dodge and Mitsubishi at the bottom. Dodge is OK if you are buying new, they have a nice warranty.

I have a 2007 Toyota Yaris, it as 190k miles on it, and I'm the original owner. It gets about 35 miles to the gallon. Low maintenance, runs like new, and it fits almost ANYWHERE. I had it through my first two years of college as a commuter, and now I use it to drive to work. The only significant work I've done on it was replacing the parking brake.

Budget? Push button and backup cameras will only be available in newer cars. Can be added on via aftermarket, however.

I always upgrade my stereo system to aftermarket no matter how good the factory is, but that's just me.

Do you mean, you owned 2002 ford expedition xlt and 2004 pt cruiser before and now choosing more economical one for college? In this case you should compare maintenance, mpg and insuuance for this option before buying one - I guess you could do it online - insripoff.blogspot.ie

If the car is still in good condition, I recommend you to keep the car instead of buying a new one in order for you to save money.

Not the vw. Focus & Mazda 3 are good choices.

Ford Focus

A four cylinder.

Ford Focus. If you're willing to go smaller, there's also the Fiesta.

Audi a3, chevy sonic, honda fit, dodge caliber, mazda 3, ford focus

  • Leasing a car in college? I'm going to be a sophmore in college and was wondering if leasing a car for 3 years is a good idea. I plan on getting a Ford Fiesta for 36 months. I know I wouldn't have to pay for repairs if I bought a car used, and I would also be getting good gas mileage. Would leasing a car be a good idea or not.
  • Can i buy a new car if i only make $10k a year and a college student? My dad is willing to help me a little bit. I'm looking at getting a ford fiesta or Hyundai accent for $15k. Know i was thinking about buying a used car but i'm worried it will have lots of problems. What should i do?
  • What cars do college students usually drive? I was thinking of buying a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT for my first car. It will be 2016 when I go to college. I feel like my car would be too old and people will judge me. How old are the cars college students usually have?
