Best advice for small car loan?

Ok so i'm 18 looking to get a SUV, I'm trying to choose between a jeep GC or Ford explorer both limited I've found a jeep for 25k and a ford for same I don't tow a lot but when I do I would love to not have problems with towing. I currently drive a 2002 ford expedition xlt and one main reason I want the jeep is because it's still RWD vs the car based FWD Explorer (which is a big deal for me except when it comes to towing or luggage), I currently have 13k cash and still working would a bank loan me 7 more thousand? No credit but trying to work on that.

I wouldn't take out the loan. 13 grand is a good down payment. When you go to the dealership try to get the best deal possible, because remember they do not get paid unless they sell cars. So see if you can get them to drop the price down a couple of hundreds or thousands. Then pay the monthly payments. If you double up on the payments, you will pay the car off sooner than later.

For 25k you could get a 2014 mustang

Not happening without a strong cosigner. Not on reasonable terms anyway.

And you can't quickly build up good credit to borrow thousands, it takes time. 18-24 months.

  • How to get out of an upside down car loan? I need to purchase a family car, I have a 4 year old and a 2 month old baby. I currently drive a 2008 Ford Mustang that is worth about $6,000. I owe $7,710 on it, pay around $400 a month plus $170 for car insurance since I'm under 25. The car has some bumper damage, over all it's in a fair condition. I also owe $2,670 on a credit card, $1,670 on a student loan and have an emergency fund of $1,000. Any suggestions?
