Maybe its a bad neutral safety switch
Its now called a range sensor. Sits just under the linkage. And has a wiring harness to it
- My 2000 Ford Taurus won't shift from neutral to reverse or neutral to park? Its curently in neutral but the steering colum shifter will go down to drive or drive 2 and will go back to neutral, but then it stops so I can't back up or park the car.since it doesn't go into park, I can't even take the keys out of the ignition. - 2007 Ford Fusion stuck in park or neutral? The car will start and I can remove the key. The shifter will shift into every gear but it doesn't engage at all. Just revs up.
