Help for a 1999 ford escort?
My daughter has a 1999 Ford Escort, she is still able to drive it, but now with weather coming I want to fix it up for her. The problem is the the brakes, I took it to a repair shop to have new brake pads, calipers, the brakes were bleed, the problem is the ABS light is on and the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor. The car still stops but I'm afraid because she is in college and would have no idea how to stop if the brakes ever gave out. Any person that knows what the problem can be please let me know. I would like to get this fixed for her before the snow comes.
Taking a 14 year old car to the dealer is a waste of time and money! Have the braking system checked by a local shop odds are the master cylinder has failed or there's a leak somewhere in the system
Hi taking to any one but a Ford dealer is not a good idea. So take it to a ford dealer they will correct the issues.
it would have been cheaper in the first instance.
Sounds like the master cylinder is leaking & needs to be replaced - Not a big deal - Normal wear-out part.
- Which car is the overall to keep for a couple of yrs? 1999 Nissan maxima, 1999 Altima, 2006 ford Taurus or 2002 buick lesabre? All of them have low mileage as the Taurus have 69000 and the maxima have the highest of 123000. They all under 1100 bucks.
- Ford taurus, ford focus, ford escort or mercury cougar? Looking for a new used car, anyone know if any of these are bad cars? They're all in the 2000-2005 range I'm leaning towards the focus cause it gets good mileage and has good storage, also I've heard it does alright in snow. Anyone have any bad experiences with any of these cars or have any bad feedback?
