1998 ford escort brake lights stuck on?
My brake lights will only turn off if I keep steady pressure under the pedal. I've read into it and I keep hearing that in probably being to replace a rubber stopper. But I've looked and it is still there and not visually broken.
You need to replace your brake light switch. It's the electrical piece that sits high up above the brake pedal in a bracket. Sometimes the plunger in the switch itself can come out of adjustment but if it hasn't been tampered with normally it's the switch itself that needs to be replaced.
Sounds like the switch has come loose.
