Buy a Chevy

No water in your radiator

Have you checked the coolant level? Coolant pump, thermostat, expansion bottle.
When did you last change the coolant and flush the block?

Check the water/anti-freeze in radiator.
or
replace thermostat

It is probably the thermostat

No antifreeze in the system, bad water pump, or belt broke.

Thermostat or a blockage in your water system? Did the heater work before it started overheating?

Immediate thoughts would be lack of coolant? This would result is such a result. An air pocket ( steam ) or blockage in coolant circuit could give such effects. Real issue will be if cylinder heads get distorted or gaskets fail and if excessive we will get metal pickup on cyl bores/pistons with potential engine seizure.
we ought to check out whole system starting with coolant level.( leaks can be a prime coolant loss so check for these e.g. Water pump.pipes etc) don't drive car until sorted as very high risk of losing engine. Have we looked at coolant level with cold engine and rad cap off? Rev engine. Do we see any coolant flow? If we're not mechanically minded or familiar with engines it will be best to have a garage sort it.
