The Ford, the others have had non-air-bag recalls. I wouldn't EVER trust a VW again.
Buy the least expensive model that will fulfill your needs.
Check out the Kia and Toyota also. Stay away from the Honda with the 1.5 turbo, because it dumps gas in the oil (since 2017), and Honda says that's normal (dumping a quart of gas in the oil is not normal).
