My car supposed to get 23 mpg but is actually getting 11 mpg?
Ford Escape 2001, 209k Miles on it. Is this normal? Or is something wrong?
I'm not surprised at that mileage. Trade it in for a newer smaller diesel. 80 mpg will be realistic then.
Answer in miles. Your Ford is dying
Check air filter, plugs, EGR system, exhaust outflow, compression, tire pressure.
Pull out and read the spark plugs. It should tell you what's going on. Check if the oil smell like gasoline, maybe your injectors are bad/leaking.
Its worn out and in need of some tlc and a good service
So your question is: is it normal for my car to get 48% the mpg it should. Answer: No.
My question: how many miles since it had a complete maintenance?
Old car, bad spark plugs, clogged fuel injectors, carbon buildup.
- Coolant leaking from strange hole under alternator, what is supposed to go there? My 97 Ford Taurus is leaking coolant from that hole but I don't know what is supposed to connect there.
- Is getting a lot of miles on a car actually bad for the car if the car is well taken care of? Back story: I have been using my car to visit a guy who lives about an hour away from me, and my mother has said that I "don't need to be putting all those miles" on my car. It is a well-taken care of Ford mustang with about 125,000 miles on it, and I have not noticed any issues at all. Cars are meant to be driven, in my mind. Is putting mileage on a care actually a bad thing, or is mother probably pulling an overprotective mother of an adult child?
- I found a random part of my car. I don't know where its supposed to be? I own a 2013 ford convertible Mustang and while cleaning inside my car I found this part. Can anybody help me by telling me where this part is supposed to go?
- I'm getting my cdl next year, is it better to have experience driving a bigger vehicle before i get my cdl? I'm getting my class a cdl? I'm going to get a job driving a ford f450 dump truck hauling an excavator on a 20ft equipment trailer… I believe that if i have experience driving a bigger vehicle w/ or w/o a trailer will help, is this true
