Is this from my car battery?
I have a 2001 Ford Escape v6 engine. The battery light has been on for almost 1 year, but I was told it could go on for a while. Lately, my car feels like it just doesn't want to go. The check engine light is not on. Is it finally time to replace my battery or is this from something else?
Added (1). I actually had my battery checked out at 3 places and they said that the battery is too small for my car. The light has been blinking on and off for a while now.
Get it to a shop and have the charging system tested. Whoever told you to continue driving with the battery light on is someone who knows nothing about cars.
If the battery is good then it's your alternator.
Here is more wrong with your car than just a battery it needs a regular service by the FORD dealer and and a diagnostic test to find the fault by a ford dealer. Because it has a problem.
You may have a brake caliper hanging up. You exhaust may be restricted. If the battery is staying charged then the alternator must be charging enough. It could be charging to high though or have some ac content. Cars don't do well with those two things. Time to get the alternator actually checked.
- Battery light came on in my car and steering wheel locked but the car was still running what could it be? I drive a 1999 Ford Taurus I was pulling out of a parking lot and the battery symbol popped up and my steering wheel locked but the car didn't shut off. I applied the breaks slowly and the battery symbol went away and my steering wheel unlocked. I do believe I have some issues with the "computer" in the car i was wondering if this was the cause
- Amplifier connected straight to battery with on/off switch would damage battery in any way? So i did this on my ford fusion 2016 straight connected to the battery with the on/off switch but now the car does not want to start as before makes a little noise like when battery its dead but turn on after 3 to 4 seconds any suggestions? - New alternator and battery but battery still won't charge in my ford explorer 93? My battery wouldnt charge So i just replaced my alternator a few days ago knowing it would fix the problem. It appears that the alternator was not the problem. I've got a brand new alternor and when i check the battery(running car), it just stays on 12.5V and doesn't go up. I tried using it yesterday and it just drained out on me. I tried 3 good batteries already and checked if they charge in my car but they don't. Oh, the alternator came with a volt regulator.
