IPod Touch not working in 2010 Ford Escape?
I have had this car since 2011 when my parents passed it down to me after graduation and have always used the Sync player/USB for my iPod Touch. It was fine until I lost the original iPod cord (the type you squeeze the sides and it disconnects from the USB/charging port) so I don't know if that has something to do with it?
Right now I just have a cheap iPod cable I bought from the store and it works fine to charge, but my vehicle does not recognize anything is connected to the USB port. I've checked online for any Sync updates, and everything says I'm fully updated and I've checked fuses, and they all seem fine.
I did try the iPod on my parent's car and it did the same thing and their SUV is much newer than mine. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?
Some after market cables are unable to be detected by the SYNC system.
Prior to purchasing a new cable, you can try soft resetting your iPod:

If that doesn't help, try a master reset. Below are the instructions for both systems.

- How to play my ipod music a 1991 truck? I have an old truck and an iPod touch. The truck doesn't have a USB plugin, it just has an am/fm radio. Is there a way I could play music from my iPod in my 1991 ford truck?
- I need help using an Ipod with my Ford Focus? I have just bought a 9-yer-old Ford Focus. I would like to but a cheap Ipod so that I can play tracks from my iTunes in the car. The owners manual hints, (without actually saying), that only certain Ipods will be compatible with the car. Does that sound right? If it is not the case, can I but any functioning Ipod and reasonably expect it to work with the car?
- How to connect iPod to sound system on 2005 Ford Fiesta? I recently bought a 2005 Ford Fiesta second hand and want to be able to play music from my iPhone through the car's speakers. Everywhere I look says to get an auxiliary cable, but I don't have an auxiliary input jack in my car. Just a 12 Volt Power Source which I assume doesn't connect to the sound system. Surely there's an alternative that allows me to connect to my car's speakers? What would I have to purchase? Open to any and all suggestions.
