Am I paying too much for car insurance?
I have a 2001 Ford Escape. It's pretty old, so I don't have full coverage. My car insurance started off as around $65 a month and I got into an accident that was my fault (I could have fought it in court, but I just didn't have the money/time, so I took the blame). My car insurance went up to $85 a month. $85 just seems too high though for only getting into a car accident 1 time. I'm currently with Geico, but am thinking of switching to Allstate or somewhere cheaper. Is this a good idea or are my car insurance payments okay? I do like the way Geico handled the car accident, but for an 2001, it just seems so high!
You need to get other insurance quotes to know if your present insurance cost is too high.

For full coverage? No, $85 a month is certainly within reason. However, if you are paying liability only that monthly rate might be high, depending on your age and location.
- Why does my car shut off with too much pressure on the steering wheel? I have a 1990 Ford Tempo. I replaced the ignition to starter cable on it, as it would randomly shut off when taking a hard right due to corrosion on it. However, it still randomly shuts off when too much pressure is applied to the steering wheel. I was suspecting that maybe it is the ignition switch, but I don't have the money to go to a mechanic at the moment. Has anyone else had this problem? And how was it fixed?
- Car battery putting out too much power? So I have a 1991 Ford ranger. Up until today everything has been fine it has a rebuilt engine and a ton if new parts. The battery is an optima red top. The truck has a voltage meter but the person I bought it from put in a custom console that has a digital voltage display. Usually it reads around 12.5 volts sometimes more sometimes less. But today it's reading around 14.3 volts and the needle on the gauge moved up past what would be considered normal. Any ideas what could be causing this?
- How much is car insurance for older muscle cars? I heard that car insurance is pretty expensive for older muscle cars, and I'd like to know around how much a month car insurance would be for a 1968 ford mustang?
- Should I get a new car or keep paying off my current one? I have a 2013 Ford Fusion with about 58,000 miles on it. I commute to work everyday, and my job requires me to travel, so I've really put the miles on. The original loan amount was $25k, and I have about $14k left on it. I was considering buying a different car and trading in my Fusion. Would that be a stupid idea? Should I just pay the car off?
