2007 Ford Escape temperature issue?

I have a 2007 Ford Escape 2.3 engine. I recently had to change the cylinder head temperature sensor. Now my temperature gauge does not go up and yesterday the check engine light came on. Also, the old model sensor was long and went further into the head, the new sensors do not. Any advice?

Yes, fit the right sensor and bleed the cooling system afterwards.

Install the correct sensor and read the codes.

Make sure the engine has no air pockets and the radiator is completely full. The sensor must be immersed in coolant to read temperature.

  • Why is the temperature guage in my 2000 ford contour going to hot? I have changed the thermostat? It runs with perfection while the reservoir cap is off but as soon as i replace the cap it starts to run hot again. The engine stays cool even when the gauge reads ho
  • What's wrong with my temperature system in my ford focus 2010? See details? So I was driving for about 20 minutes and my temperature gauge was on cold still for some reason. Then all of a sudden my temperature warning light turns on, and persists for about 10 minutes. Then the temperature light turns off, and my gauge moves from cold to right before the middle. Is it a faulty sensor? Or could my car be overheating within 20 minutes of driving? I have a ford focus 2010.
  • Ford fiesta temperature gauge So I recently noticed that my coolant fluid was very low so I topped this up 2 days ago. However I'm struggling to suss out the temperature gauge. I'm sure that normally when I switch on my car, the guage instantly goes to the halfway mark. But at the moment it seems to be taking a while to get up to this point. Can someone tell me if I'm tripping and is it normal for the engine to take a bit of driving to heat up? Or should I be worried?
  • 2007 Ford Expedition vs 2007 Chevy Tahoe vs 2004 Lincoln Navigator? I wanted to get one of these due for the 4 wheel drive in the winter. I live in Boston, so it gets rough. I wanted to get one of these three. And I don't know which one is better. I test drove a 2007 Tahoe, and loved it. Although I never drove an Expedition nor Navigator. (although I drive a Lincoln Continental, so I might understand lincolns performance in a navigator). If anyone has one of these, which one would be better?
