What causes a vehicles windows to fog up overnight? (No other cars in the area do this)?
I had a Ford Edge which I recently traded in for a Ford Explorer. Every morning that I go out to leave for work (4am), the windows are all fogged up. This happens throughout the morning, like today is my day off, its 11am, and the windows are all fogged over. I can look at my neighbors, none of their cars have any fog on them.
My Edge didn't do this, my girlfriends Fusion doesn't do this, nor does her current loaner car while the fusion is having work done.
Its kind of annoying every morning having to wait 10 minutes for the car to warm up, and have heat coming out of the defrosters to clear the windows even when its 65 degrees outside.
There's something amiss with the ventilation. We humans exhale a lot of humidity and if it is not cleared out when the car is parked overnight it condenses on the inside of the windows. At least make sure the ventilation is not set to recirculate.
Is the moisture inside or out I'm guessing inside as none of the others have this problem. You have excess moisture in your truck could be from a bad door seal or just that the truck was detailed inside and out to make pretty for resale and not completely aired out but your defrost also works on colder settings or at least it should if your A'C works then the defroster will clear the windows at any temp setting as the defrost a car runs through the A/C and sends dehumidified air across the windsheild
- What other vehicles have the same lower control arm/ ball joint assembly as a 2004-2009 Mazda 3? Trying to find a replacement at a junk yard, so far I know about the Mazda 5 which is compatible, wondering if there are any Fords that would have the same piece. A list of make/model/year would be great.
- Ford Ranger 4.0, 172,000 miles rough idle when starting after sitting overnight or after 2-3 hours. Starts 1st crank, idles rough 1 minute? Or so and then smooths out and runs fine. New heads and gaskets. Cleaned MAF sensor, throttle body and air intake sensor, new IAC valve, new air and fuel filters, new PCV valve. No smoke coming from exhaust and No check engine light. Any ideas what's causing this rough idle?
- After driving Ford Ranger, high mileage, 10 miles and at normal operating temp, I park overnight on level concrete floor. I check oil level? Next day before starting and when I pull dipstick out, oil level is at full mark. I wipe the dipstick clean and re-insert and check oil level again, the oil level is down about 1/8th inch or so. I check it once more and get same reading. Is the crankcase full or do I need to add some oil? Just to be clear, since this is an older Ranger with over 170,000 miles, I use high mileage oil and I check the oil level regularly. It doesn't use oil after just 10 miles of driving.
