How do you put roof racks on a Ford Edge?

I have a Ford Edge and it does not have roof racks. Is there a way I could put them on myself or would I have to pay someone to install them?

If it has front to rear factory fitted roof rails already they are a DIY fit though a second person to help you would limit the possibility or damage.
May be impossible if it has panoramic sun roof though.

I don't know. How are you with power tools? When drilling a hole, one slip and you are getting the roof repainted.

  • I'm looking at buying a Ford Transit custom SWB High roof. However, I know there's the 250 and the 270 models available I'm a self employed plumber so I'll be carrying all my tools and power tools with numerous boxes of fittings and pipework. Should I really be concerned with over weighting the 250 model?
  • What happens if you use the same bottle you put gas in to put water in your radiator? I accidentally used the same bottle I put gas in to put water in my 99 Ford Explorer radiator and now it's been over heating non stop, I'm on the side of the highway now. The water comes out brown and gooey and I bought Prestone Flush+Cleaner, twice I followed the steps and it still overheats and the brown gooey stuff, oh yea and I'm not sure if this is bad but there's white smoke coming out of the exhaust
  • Kayak on roof with no crossbars? I have a Ford explorer that came with the roof rails that run front to back on both sides but do not have the crossbars. Is there a secure way to secure a kayak on top? One would think that there would be some sort of rack thing to use with these. But i don't know.
  • What's a reliable car with a big sun roof? So I currently drive a 2014 Ford Focus. It's alright but it's sun roofless. I'm thinking about trading it because among other things this car has problems and I've had it. I really like the mini coopers but I don't want something expensive to repair. I was looking at jeeps and Ford escapes and I'm not sure what to look for. I want used because I'd rather have a cheap car payment but for sure a panorama sunroof is what I want badly. Any suggestions?
