Can 6 people legally travel in an intermediate SUV?
I wish to travel from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to Niagara Falls New York. We called up a couple of car rental companies and they said we can travel in a Ford Edge or Chevy Equinox. I just wanted to double check if this is legally permitted.
The legal maximum capacity of any passenger vehicle is determined by the number of seat belts it is equipped.
If the vehicle has six seats and six seat belts. The answer is YES.
Now going to Canada is something else. The better view is on the Canadian side of the Border.

Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia can carry 6 and a suitcase or two.
Try not to rent from Bargain Land I think you will be crowded in their recommended choices. For this many people and if suitcases get something bigger
