Why could my truck be smoking while going up hill (ONLY UP HILL)?
I have a 1991 ford f250 with a 5.8 engine. I first noticed the issue while driving to work on their highway. I was going up a hill at about 65 mph at bottom of hill by then time I reached them top of their hill I was only going about 55 mph and could feel that they truck had a power loss. I also noticed that I was blowing a light grey smoke from my exhaust that had covered them highway. The only time the truck smokes is while going up hill. I changed their plugs wires and cap and button along with a few bad vacuum hoses I found that were bad. Trying to find out if anyone else has experienced a similar situation and if they figured out what was causing it.
I had a vehicle that did that, and it was a plugged oil return hole towards the back of the cylinder head. I removed the obstruction, and it never smoked again.
- Why is my car smoking from tailpipe? I have an 06 ford crown victoria and the car has been sitting for about a month without a computer and of course without being started. I put the computer on and started it up and it was awful. Sounded horrible doing nothing but missing idling rough and low. Smells like gas real bad and my gas mileage is horrible and car blows a blueish kinda smoke. I don't know where to go from here. Any help appreciated!
- Ford 300 starts smoking from oil cap after 1 minute of runtime and radiator smells like a wet fire pit? It was running fine then it started acting hard to start off and smoking a little so I figured oil. Put some more in and it straightened up for a mile or so then started acting up worse. It began to have a knocking noise like an old diesel tractor. I don't understand what it is because it starts up just fine but won't run for more than a minute before it starts pudding and knocking. Also there are tiny pieces of rust chunks in the radiator and it smells like a wet fire pit.
