Why is my car smoking from tailpipe?
I have an 06 ford crown victoria and the car has been sitting for about a month without a computer and of course without being started. I put the computer on and started it up and it was awful. Sounded horrible doing nothing but missing idling rough and low. Smells like gas real bad and my gas mileage is horrible and car blows a blueish kinda smoke. I don't know where to go from here. Any help appreciated!
You probably have to have a Ford shop program the computer.
It takes awhile to reset itself. Run it awhile, shut it off, start it up and run about ten miles. Should clear up.
- Why don't car companies remake some of their classic car models if people like them so much? Of course safety is in mind because everyone would freak out if they didn't have a seat belt and air bags in every inch of the car, but why can't some of the companies just remake their best selling car models? Dodge could remake their 1948 Sedan and Ford could remake their 1949 Custom. I could list more but I can't think of any more classics.
- Why doesn't car manufacturers provide their own car insurance? I always ask myself this question. Why doesn't the Ford, Chevrolet, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Nissan, and more provide their own car insurance? It's doesn't make a lot of sense to leave the insurance duties to companies that knows little to nothing about cars. Plus, Insurance would be cheaper. Sick and tired of getting RIP off by the Geico, and State farms of the world. What do you people think?
- Ford 300 starts smoking from oil cap after 1 minute of runtime and radiator smells like a wet fire pit? It was running fine then it started acting hard to start off and smoking a little so I figured oil. Put some more in and it straightened up for a mile or so then started acting up worse. It began to have a knocking noise like an old diesel tractor. I don't understand what it is because it starts up just fine but won't run for more than a minute before it starts pudding and knocking. Also there are tiny pieces of rust chunks in the radiator and it smells like a wet fire pit.
- First Car. What car should I get and why? Hi, I'm about to buy my first car but I'm not sure which one I should get… My options are: Ford Fiesta Peugeot 206 Fiat Punto Which one would you recommend? Or would you get? And why would you get it? Also, what one wouldn't you get and why wouldn't you get it.
