Should I avoid buying a ford 6.0 power stroke?

I have my eyes set on a 2006 Ford F-250 6.0 diseal. I really like it great condition and low miles. But my dad who is a mechanic says the 6.0 is one of the worst engines ever made and avoid them at all costs. Is this true, and should I avoid buying this truck. What issues do the 6.0 have and is it unreliable. If so what trucks should I look at instead

Yes, there was just ONE YEAR that Ford tried something that didn't work, but the others are okay.

Yeah that engine, that year is well known for problems.

Solution: buy a chevy

Listen to your dad, he's not going to lie to you.

Avoid the powerjoke 6.0 at all costs! Try to get the 7.3 instead or a newer 6.4 Or get a real diesel and get a Ram with a Cummins.

  • Why did Ford stop making the 7.3 liter power stroke? I can't comprehend why ford just drop the 7.3 liter and switch to the 6.0 and I heard bad things about the 6.0 and the 6.4 liter. So does anyone know why ford drop the 7.3? I hear the 7.3 are long lasting engines and are bulletproof so if they're such good engines why did they discontinue?
  • WHICH CAR SHOULD WE LOOK INTO BUYING? We looking to buy a family car 5 door, we were thinking in the line of maybe a corsa or somethink like a citroen or maybe a ford cmax any idear as we never own any of these.
  • What are the most reliable car brands and which ones should I avoid? I'm looking to get a used car. I have even heard about two lesser known Japanese brands, Subaru and Suzuki, but I'm a bit skeptical of Suzuki in particular. I'm honestly not a supporter of Mitsubishi and Mazda. I would not say having AWD/4WD is necessary for me. It is not very snowy where I live. The reason I said that I do not like Mazda was because it used to be partnered with Ford and I do not like American car companies. I'm not so keen on German cars.
  • Power windows and power door locks not working on my ford ranger? I have a 2000 ford ranger lte and the power windows, door locks, and power mirrors are not working… Where is the fuse? Are they all on the same fuse? What do you think I need to check?
