Car just dieing no power?

Ok my car had a bad alternator so i replaced it the battery was all the way dead so we had it recharged now a day later the car drove 35 min to work got to my parking spot and the car died it will not restart no power

so i'm asking can a bad battery make the car just to die i can understand not letting it restart the car is a 2006 ford torus se but when we had the battery charged they said it was ok so i was able to get it home the first time just the battery light was on all the way home after they charged and tested it

Your battery holds power to start your engine. Then your engine runs off alternator generated power, and not the battery. The alternator recharges the battery so it is powered up for the next start. In some cars, you can do a jump start and run the car without the battery. These days, in order to protect the on-board computers that regulate your car and all it's systems, some have circuits that will not let you run if the battery is disconnected or dead. Your car allowed you to run the 35 minutes on your alternator although your dead battery did not recharge. Whoever did your testing, sounds like they wanted to sell you an alternator and not a battery. Bite the bullet and get a battery. If it still doesn't hold a charge, you may have a wiring short somewhere. Good luck finding that. Not impossible, but not easy, either. If it ever comes to swapping and changing electrical modules, The easiest way to fix it is at an auto dealer - not the repair shop, the lot. Trade it.

Dude the battery is shot. Badly.

Hmm ok well i'm going to replace the bat and see what the problem is we may end up trading it off to bad i have only had it for 3 years and i paid 200 for an alt the battery is under warranty till next year
